Overview:

Medix is currently seeking a skilled Phlebotomist.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess vein to ensure blood can be drawn
  • Draw blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, or butterfly venipuncture methods
  • Could be required to call patients to confirm blood draw appointments
  • Could be required to collect and copy insurance or payment information for billing
  • Draw blood from capillaries by dermal puncture, such as heel or finger stick methods
  • Enter and order labs via EMR/online portal
  • Send blood specimen to the laboratory
  • Collect other specimens including fluids, spit, throat swabs, fecal specimen, urine, skin, and more
  • Dispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies
  • Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies

    • Requirements:

  • 1 -2 years Phlebotomy experience
  • At least 3 months recent experience performing phlebotomy
  • Ability to use computers to enter information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Certification is a plus

    • Benefits:

    In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
