PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The incumbent develops and executeslogistical strategies consistent with NxStage Medical’s global corporategoals. Develops and implementsshort-term and long-term operating plans and strategies consistent with overallcorporate objectives. Provide teamleadership and direction for logistics and supply chain activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, document, and implement business processesrelated to warehousing
  • Develop and analyze procurement strategies tosupport logistics/warehouse business as it develops and grows.Specific focus to include security of supply,quality, and cost
  • Supports the development of budgets and forecastsfor annual and long range business models
  • Manage problem suppliers and interface with QualityAssurance to coordinate effective corrective action
  • Manage relationships andnegotiate contracts with distribution center
  • Responsible for management ofKPIs with distribution suppliers
  • Ensure that quality,customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met
  • Lead import/exportcompliance operations
  • Perform metrics reportingand data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for processimprovements
  • Lead process improvementprojects
  • Work in cross-functional teams and with differentend-users to meet internal and external stakeholder needs
  • Partner and communicate withsuppliers and customers
  • Manage and develop team

    EDUCATION :

    Bachelor’s Degree in business or engineering; MBA strongly preferred

    EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain or operationsin a medical device/diagnostics environment
  • 5+ years of managementexperience
  • Import/Export compliance experiencea plus
  • CPIM Certification and SixSigma a plus
  • Strong negotiation, analyticaland interpersonal skills
  • Action,goal and team oriented
  • Strong“sense of urgency” and perseverance in pursuit of goals
  • InternationalManufacturing/Operations experience a plus
