Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Culinary School or "On The Job" training program equivalent.
Minimum Work Experience: 2+ years related experience in food preparation, cooking and principles of sanitation and safety preferred.
Required Licenses / Certifications : Food handler's certificate. Or will need to obtain and maintain a current food handler's certificate within 30 days of hire. BLS also required within 90 days of hire.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Must be able to follow recipies precisely. Must be able to work quickly and accurately. Must be able to maintain composure in stressful times. Must be able to work well with people and take direction from Executive Chef and department managers.
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under direct supervision of Executive Chef or Sous Chef, prepares foods for patients, residents, cafe customers, and catered events. Food is prepared in timely manner, served, held and stored at proper temperatures and under sanitary conditions. Responsible for overall sanitation of kitchen equipment.
