We are not simply satisfied with what is working now; instead, we challenge ourselves and continue to be a leader in our industry.The Corporate Quality Project Manager (CQPM) is responsible for driving product quality improvements by managing programs, projects, and processes related to quality and continuous improvement directives across their business group(s). The CQPM increases customer satisfaction and reduces business risk throughout the product lifecycle by supporting new product launches, supply chains, manufacturing, assembly, service, quality management systems, and compliance. The CQPM serves as the subject matter expert pertaining to product quality, quality principles, methods, disciplines, systems, requirements, and tools.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Product Quality ImprovementLead and manage quality-focused projects including effective project management, coordination and deployment of resources, and writing and delivering reports;Monitor, analyze, report, and effectively use quality data to increase customer satisfaction and reduce risk;Drive root cause analyses and problem solving utilizing Generac Quality Management System processes, LEAN methodology, and statistical tools;Lead and manage external quality issues and field campaigns to positive customer results;Present quality-related information to internal and external stakeholders;Present quality improvement project data to customers in support of the business needs;Coordinate communication activities that highlight and publicize plans, goals and results.Serve as a conduit for the flow of information, the sharing of best practices and external benchmarks.Clearly understand and document customers' definition and expectation of quality and cascade to operations and program team members.Quality System ImprovementSupport quality system improvement initiatives in sites that increase maturity of the Generac Manufacturing System;Conduct improvement-focused internal and external quality audits.Identify and support closing gaps in the quality management system in alignment with the corporate quality team;Minimal Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or educational equivalent;3 years of experience in an operations quality role;2 years of improvement or project management related experience;Preferred Qualifications:Product and process auditing experience;Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software;Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, and/or Lean Certification;Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Effective verbal and written communication skills;Project leadership skills within a collaborative environment;Demonstrated ability to influence teams and individuals cross-functionally and cross-site;Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment;Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze and communicate with well-supported data;Knowledge of quality processes and tools;Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or other Quality Assurance industry standards;Knowledge of process improvement and/or Six Sigma tools and methodology;Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
