Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Identifies, recommends and implements policy and procedure improvement opportunities as well as database modifications to enhance gift assurance operations and minimize risks in the use of gift funds. Participates in risk assessment of issues related to gift funds.2. Develops, reviews and edits endowment gift agreements. Mediates endowment compliance issues. 3. Establishes new gift accounts in cooperation with the schools/departments and the university’s accounting office. Communicates gift restrictions to the account signatories and others responsible for spending gift funds. Works with gift administration staff to ensure accurate recordkeeping of gifts. Ensures accurate and timely investment of endowment gift funds.4. Implements core activities of the endowment compliance program, to include: • Accurate and timely endowment reporting to internal stakeholders, donors, and UT System. Collaborates with stewardship staff in the Office of Development to produce annual reports to donors in accordance with UT System’s endowment compliance program requirements• Training holders/PIs and their financial administrators, and Development staff• Monitoring endowments for appropriate use of funds in accordance with donor intent and UT Board of Regents rules and issues with accumulated funds and unfilled academic positions. 5. Ensures accurate and timely entry and maintenance of endowment information in the donor database (Raiser’s Edge). Completes regular data integrity checks to ensure that RE is in sync with UTIMCO’s and UT System’s records and UTHealth’s accounting system. Maintains confidentiality and ensures integrity of donor information.6. Manages Human Resources activities of the Gift Assurance team in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel. Skills with relational database. Exceptional critical thinking skills and attention to detail. 

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of related experience, preferably in compliance and/or quality assurance, and preferably in a higher education fundraising environment. Management experience strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
