Job Description GBS Finance – North America records and reports on real estate transactions for over 2,000 franchisees and more than 15,000 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. We are responsible for the calculation and billing of rents and service fees to franchisees and tenants, all lease related and real estate tax payment and accounting activities, and construction project and fixed asset accounting processes. Responsibilities: Review the work of and support team in preparing monthly, quarterly & annual reconciliations and reporting as well as monthly close responsibilities. This includes reviewing Tririga work for finance approval as well as proper accounting treatment in alignment with FASB regulations. Provide support to other GBS locations and partners as well as worldwide markets involved in Tririga implementations. Reviewing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all Sox and McDonald’s internal controls. Participate & supervise team for quarterly & annual financial statement audits with internal and external auditors. Remove operational barriers & support team in resolving accounting and IT issues. Provide recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures. Supports team in the execution of GBS continuous improvement strategy. Hires, trains, develops and motivates accounting staff. Cultivate strong relationships with accounting staff, key customers, business partners and stakeholders. Share responsibility for the supervision of US accounting processes through preparation of operational metrics for leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance At least 2 years of qualifying accounting work experience (focus on lease accounting a plus). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer experience focus, to lead discussions with franchisees when applicable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and present variances with accounts. Continuous improvement mindset to enhance processes and maximize productivity. Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point, with knowledge of Oracle and TRIRIGA a plus. Prior Supervisory Experience is very helpful as this role will assume direct reports in the future.
