Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Human Services plus 1 year experience in human services field; Obtain Certified Prevention Specialist certification within 18 months of hiring; Prior experience facilitating groups; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Public speaking experience(preferred); Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook); Valid driver's license.

Essential Job Functions:

Promote destigmatization of the disease of addiction. Understand and demonstrate knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework and Public Health Model of prevention. Coordinate services with referral sources and other community resources. Provide direct service hours to community. Accurately complete required documentation and reports within prescribed time. Design prevention programs to meet the needs of the community and/or special interest groups. Demonstrate an understanding of the disease process of substance use disorders, the core functions of prevention, and apply these appropriately to job duties. Use and/or develop evaluation tools to measure outcomes for prevention programs. Meet the outcomes of the Integrated Provider Network (IPN) Complete all required trainings for the Prevention Specialist per IDPH and Rosecrance Jackson Centers. Professionally represent Rosecrance and the Prevention program at all Rosecrance/work-related functions. Stay abreast of local, state, and national Prevention programs, trends, research, and other relevant information. Serve as a member of the Rosecrance Team and participate in all team meetings and activities as directed. Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the professional Code of Conduct and within the framework of the law. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer. Serve as a role model and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing the agency. Assume other related responsibilities as delegated by management.
