Under general supervision, this position is responsible for architecture, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a data warehouse by defining policies and procedures; creating change management processes; and designing, mapping, building, testing, and implementing Extract-Transform-Load (i.e. ETL) solutions to collate, migrate, and integrate current/historical data from various operational and transactional sources/systems within the organization. The Data Warehouse Engineer II may consult directly with clients and customers to determine business needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Determine complex systems data warehouse design requirements including researching, analyzing, designing, documenting, and modifying specifications throughout the production life cycle. Communicate with users to gain understanding of needed modifications to existing programs and processes. Enhances existing solutions as needed. Solves difficult but not complex technical problems. May develop new data policies, procedures, and tools based on pre-existing specifications. Maintain and modify existing data sets, data loads, documentation, policies, procedures, and other data solutions. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. Analyze and interpret collection of data, spot trends, modeling data sets and data architectures, and developing & enhancing the data warehouse environment. Responsible for collaborating with and training cross-functional team members within the SCRUM/Agile framework. Provide occasional on-call support and problem resolution of data warehouse issues and perform initial diagnosis of hardware issues. Identify and analyze difficult but typically not complex business needs, conduct requirements gathering, and define scope and objectives for IT systems, data solutions, and data warehouses. Ensure that data warehouse improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Assist with the development of data warehouse engineering security, policies, standards and procedures. Build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers. Solve a range of straightforward problems. Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures. Create, maintain, and interpret databases diagrams and data dictionaries. May configure, customize, or maintain multiple system environments including production, staging, and development. May direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs. Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers. Complete other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience BS degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in full information life cycle, SCRUM/Agile methodologies, including but not limited to successful deployments as lead. Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in the Microsoft Technology Stack including but not limited to SQL Server, Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS. Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience with data modeling and transformation using standard ETL tools and methods. Experience writing complex SQL queries with Microsoft SQL and MySQL. Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience with Git and software version control best practices. Knowledge and experience with secure data practices, and state and federal information security laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, NIST, PCI and all other applicable regulations.
