Job Description Summary
Carrier has an exciting opportunity for a driven and self-directed Software, Electrical, or Electronics Engineer to join its Commercial HVAC Controls Engineering team.
The Carrier Controls Engineering team is providing game-changing solutions to make Carrier’s commercial HVAC portfolio smarter and better connected. Our products are undergoing a radical transformation into intelligent systems that are more efficient and reliable. The controls engineering team designs, develops, and supports intelligent, connected control systems and is continuously adopting new technologies and capabilities.
This position will be primarily focused on developing, deploying, and supporting control software to Carrier HVAC Hardware and Electronics, with additional responsibilities of documentation, debug on hardware, and innovating to continually improve product offerings.
The position is based in Charlotte, NC, and will collaborate with resources and stakeholders globally.
Own software development activities on assigned projects from conceptual design to deployment.
Design, implement or modify existing logic for equipment control.
Innovate around existing and new software products to bring about modernization and change.
Provide technical know-how and leadership during root cause analysis of product issues.
Work closely with quality, field support, and product management groups to prioritize support issues and develop schedules for resolution.
Experience with the development of software applications in any language.
Knowledge and desire to program in C & C++.
Proven experience in troubleshooting, analyzing, and determining the root cause of issues found during development and deployment on hardware.
Desire to work across departments and with multiple global teams.
Knowledge of HVAC systems a plus
Knowledge of Linux and web technologies a plus.
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Able to exhibit technical leadership with peers and team members.
Able to communicate complex technical concepts across technical and non-technical organizations.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a lean and fast-paced environment.
Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams and a diverse cultural environment.
