Our propulsion systems, both liquid- and solid-fueled, have been at the heart of virtually every major , our peoople, and our mission.**We have an immediate need for a Senior Director of Contracts - Space Programs** . In this role you will manage the cross-functional contracts organization as a strategic partner with the Space Business leadership team in the development of overall strategies for space **proposal development** **, source selection** , negotiations, terminations and extensions for the business to ensure proper acquisition and fulfillment of contracts in accordance with obligations, specifications and legal requirements. With a focus on strengthening our best practices regarding AR's contracts and business transactions to reduce exposure to poor contracts, provisions and arrangements, and overall more achievable and **profitable** contract baselines.This position will ideally be based at our Space Headquarters in Canoga Park. We will also consider well qualified applicants at any of our operating locations.**Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)**20% - Lead Space Contract Organization in support to current programs admistration with sound, ethical Contract / Legal recommendations and customer interface as well as those programs in obtaining key awards annually.20% - Lead the Space Contracts team in supporting the company objectives concerning cash flow. This goal includes providing leadership in proposals development and review concerning the proposing and negotiating of favorable or cash neutral positions and to ensure that the company obtains payment per the terms of negotiated contracts.15% - Provide oversight to the contract closeout processes in Space contracting team to reduce of the backlog of contracts to close. Establish a business rhythm of contract closeout such that for current active contracts the Contract Manager will close out the contract, when appropriate, before it goes into an overdue backlog condition.15% - Focus on advancing Contracts command media by retiring outdated and obsolescent procedures and formulationg a prococess to review all command media annualy with the goal of simplification, brevity and the elimination of reductant / conflicting policies and procedures.15% - Lead the Space Contracts organization in Contract Management associate development, establishing training curriculums, certifications and developing Contract Management leaders of the future.10% - Provide resources to support and participate in a leadership role concerning at least 2 AR Business Operating System (ARBOS) events to streamline processes for the advancement of Contracts Management Function. This goal also includes support to other functions by reviewing processes and assisting the development of future states for implementation.5% - Provide leadership concerning a Contracts ARBOS Enterprise Support Plan (ESP) plan at the Space and enterprise level. This initiative may include establishing performance metrics, performance tracking and an audit sampling routine to measure compliance to expectations.**Requirements**Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a closely related field and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of progressively responsible experience in contracts development and administration or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.May be required to obtain and maintain a , , and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.Additional Requirements:+ Ability to direct and control the overall organizational resources.+ Demonstrated managerial level leadership.+ Complete understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its agency supplements.Work Environment/Physical Requirements:Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
