The Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) Data Management & Architecture team within Strategic Analytics & Intelligence plays a key role in managing the data lifecycle from strategy, acquisition, management and governance. The team also plays a critical role in the global programs, with the aim to shape the data needs to enable Roche's global customer engagement vision, strategy and solutions.
The Enterprise Data Governance Lead, will be responsible for development, management and adoption of a robust data Governance model across Genentech, in. e/She will shape and implement the evolving data governance model, as it relates to management and usage of data across different functions including Commercial, Medical Affairs & Govt. Affairs. As a subject matter expert, the individual will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend appropriate data solutions. This person will be required to forge strong relationships with stakeholders & partners to inform, gain alignment, unlock & solve complex business challenges, and influence Data Governance roadmap. This person will closely work with a host of internal partners, including affiliate business team, compliance and regional IT, as well as external data vendor. In this position, the Enterprise Data Governance Lead will be primarily accountable to consistently and effectively:
Lead and shape the data Governance Strategy for CMG and create an enterprise mindset in partnership with Genentech Business Operations, US Medical Affairs, Field Ecosystem, Marketing etc.
Managing and Influencing the alignment of governance solutions by emphasizing the global perspective with appropriate balance for local needs
Help devise an adaptable governance methodology to enable efficiency and effectiveness in data operations, as it relates to MDM, data integration, taxonomy, and reporting & analytics
Lead effort to develop relevant tools and resources to support DMA’s strategic goals
Determine best means to create strategic partnerships based on understanding of the needs of the customer engagement channels, with focus on short term and long term
Leverage ‘new ways of working’ to engage people and resources across CMG to execute on the opportunities
Provide vendor relationship management and support, as needed
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and be sought after for collaboration in area of expertise
Provide leadership and expertise to drive the large scale data/technical solutions
Participate in various data or systems projects to drive design, establish best practices
Training and mentoring other team members, business partners and stakeholders on related domain expertise

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree (computer science, engineering or other technical disciplines are a plus)
MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred
8-10 years of previous experience working with key pharmaceutical/biotechnology data assets like Customer, Sales, Claims and other secondary data.
Strong experience in master data management and data stewardship/governance processes
Experience in managing data projects and data vendors in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry
Knowledge of MDM solutions like Reltio, Informatica MDM; pharma CRM solutions like Salesforce, OCE, Veeva CRM; cloud platforms like AWS, Hadoop is a strong plus
Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendations
Excellent problem solving skills, details oriented with focus on quality and accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient in interacting with Senior Leadership
Must demonstrate knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, business information systems, databases and business analytics relevant to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries
Previous experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry is strongly preferred, , commercial operations, field sales or sales management, field sales operations, field account management, product marketing, market planning, strategic planning, etc.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals
Business travel, by air or car, is required for regular internal and external business meetings
