Position Summ ary:
The Clinical Intake Specialist conducts comprehensive Diagnostic Assessments to persons referred to Alternative Paths, Inc. to determine Level of Care. Triages and assesses service request calls, and completes follow-up calls with persons who do not attend their schedule Intake appointments. Maintains clinical records in accordance with accreditation and certification standards. Applies Crisis Intervention skills when indicated. Develops person-centered Individual Service Plans. Communicates with intra-program staff to coordinate care. This position offers a blend of office and remote-based service delivery.
Position Requirements:Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work and licensed in the state of Ohio as either a LSW or LPC, LISW or LPCC is preferred. Clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.
2-5 years experience in completing Diagnostic Assessments and developing person-centered Individual Service Plans in a community behavioral health setting. Experience working with the individuals who have mental health and substance use disorders.
Must demonstrate strong diagnostic skill and have an ability to apply counseling theory and techniques. Have a working knowledge of community resources and manage tasks simultaneously. Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, collaboration, mediation, patience, strong oral and writing skills, and organization. Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, Familiar with Medication Assisted Treatment (MET), ASAM Level of Care, Stages of Change and Trauma-Informed Care. Proficient in using electronic medical record and Telebehavioral Health platforms, and Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).
