The Opportunity

RS&H is currently seeking an Entry Level Architect to join our Aviation Practice in Chicago, Illinois.

We design airports and aviation-related facilities throughout the US and abroad. Aviation Architecture consistently represents a complex commingling of multiple building types/ functions (civic, cultural, commercial, hospitality, office, retail, workplace, interiors, etc.) often under one roof.

Our projects are experienced by millions of people each year and can reach hundreds of millions of dollars in construction value. The clients we serve are focused on providing the best customer experience through outstanding design, technical excellence, and a desire for community.

RS&H is actively seeking an Entry Level Architect.

As an Aviation Architect with RS&H, you will have the opportunity to deliver projects of various sizes and complexities. Your work will be informed and supported by in-house planners, airfield and building engineers, and environmental specialists to ensure that all aspects of any aviation facility are accounted for and integrated into the design.

  • Bachelor or Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience (internship or part-time work acceptable)
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, ACAD, Sketch-Up and/or BIM and another drafting, modeling and presentation tools
  • Ability to travel and perform on-site activities
  • Graphic layout capability (Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Good analytical, oral, and written communication skills
  • General understanding of an airport/terminal environments
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of graphic interface tools including Studio Max 3D
